Currently we're not really active on Yahoo, though the group is still alive and I do check to make sure its not spammed.

We have a twitter (@DconAmSFMedia) and the Facebook group.

Our website is moving over to the DragonCon domain, so will be updated shortly.

We also are officially now the American SF and Fantasy Media track, so hopefully that will eliminate SOME confusion.

We are settling the details on what shows are covered by what, so will let you know those details as soon as we can.

Thanks to a kind person who somehow ended up owning this LJ we have it back!

Hi all! For those who aren't on our Yahoo group or Facebook group (yes we have both, come visit!) I wanted to send out some updates.

American SF Media has a ton of stuff for you all this year! Our website has been updated with the schedule, and there's also a google version and an ical version for those that want to have it ready at hand!

Just check it out at www.scifitvtrack.com/

I do still need a few panelists too! I am looking for folks willing to talk about V, Web Series, Smallville, the BSG Universe, Sanctuary, and someone who's read all of the GRRM - Game of Thrones series, and seen the series (in other words, very familiar with the World as a whole). Just drop me an email with some idea of who you are and why you are comfortable talking about this stuff. You can reach me at amscifi@dragoncon.org.

Looking for a last-minute addition to your sci-fi costume wardrobe for Dragon*Con? Check this out: a complete pattern for Dr. Horrible’s lab coat! It’s not terribly difficult to make, and an experienced sewer can crank one out in less than a day. You can also get a coat made for you at the same site.

For those of you attending this year's Dragoncon, I've just read on the Dragoncon Yahoogroups list that the Baymont hotel has been sold and that the new owners are not honoring any reservations already made for Dragoncon this year. Good luck on finding a new hotel! Do check the hotel listings at the D*C site itself, of course.

Is Aaron Douglas still attending D*Con?  He's nowhere to be found in the Pocket Program so I was just wondering...
30 July 2008 @ 07:15 pm

A week ago or so the schedule said that JM was going to be attending "The Good, the Bad, and the Beauty" panel on Friday, but now the site does not list him under that panel's guests. He is still going to attend an AMSF panel on Sunday and will be doing the Whedontrack as well, but I'm unsure if he will be at the The Good, the Bad, and the Beauty because while not listed as a guest for that panel, it still says that the among the characters will be Brainiac who is played by James.

Clarifications, please anybody?

From the Orac list (and please pass it along):

To All You Book-loving Atlanta Locals:

I just got a note from Sean Wallace, Publisher/Editor with Prime
Books/Wildside Press. It seems that SF/F publisher Meisha Merlin,
which declared it was shutting down in November, has a rather large
amount of stock (tens of thousands of books) in its Stone Mountain
warehouse (1440 Kelton Drive, Stone Mountain) that needs to be rescued
or it will all be destroyed/recycled.

Sean is renting a truck which can fit fifteen pallets, single-stacked,
or thirty double-stacked, but there's no forklift available, only a
pallet jack. So he has to fill the truck by hand. He'll be in town
Tuesday and Wednesday (4/22 and 4/23) to load up, and he's asked me to
spread the word that he's desperate for volunteers to help him. Anyone
who volunteers can cart off any books they want that don't fit into
the truck.

If you can help out or know of folks who might be able to, email Sean

Does anybody have video of the Friday Trek vs BSG panel?  Particularly the conversation between Aaron and Jamie about playing footsies or Aaron stealing Frakes' sign?  Thanks.

I'm trying to find the d-con "home" for Supernatural. Is this it? Please tell me there's a place for SPN fans. *g*

Will the track be doing anything with the Dresden Files this year?  My family and I are all big fans.
